Over 70 representatives from archaeological site museums, research institutes, and related organizations from across the country attended the conference, which was chaired by Wu Jian, director of the Kuhuqiao Site Museum in Hangzhou.
Wang Yuanyin, deputy director of the Emperor Qinshihuang's Mausoleum Site Museum, first conveyed a speech given by Li Qun, vice minister of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and director of the State Administration of Cultural Heritage, at the opening ceremony of the new hall at the Yinxu Museum in Henan province.
The conference elected the first standing committee, with Emperor Qinshihuang's Mausoleum Site Museum serving as the director unit of the professional committee. The conference also deliberated and passed management measures for the professional committee.
Li Gang, secretary of the Party committee and director of the Emperor Qinshihuang's Mausoleum Site Museum, outlined the 2024 key work and business development plan of the professional committee.
The professional committee is a non-profit academic group composed of archaeological site museums, archaeological museums, research institutes engaged in archaeological site museum-related work, and corporate entities with membership qualifications in the Chinese Museums Association.
Moving forward, the professional committee will promote cooperation among archaeological site museums and related institutions in China and engage in academic exchange activities to contribute to the high-quality development of China's archaeological site museum industry.
