The first Weibo Travel Night ceremony was held in Dali, Yunnan province, on Jan 22. At this event, Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, was awarded the title of Weibo's Most Popular Domestic Tourism City in 2023.

This achievement will further enhance the brand popularity and reputation of Xi'an's cultural tourism.

This award selection relies on Weibo's authoritative big data, including top search data, destination check-in data, mentions, official Weibo releases, as well as its interactive communication index. The results were obtained based on netizen votes and expert suggestions.

During this year's Spring Festival, flight and train reservations to Xi'an increased nearly 13 times that of last year's figures, ranking among the top 10 destinations in China. The areas surrounding the Xi'an Bell Tower, the Grand Tang Mall, the Shaanxi History Museum, and the Tang Paradise have also seen a spike in hotel reservations.
