Deputies have attended the sixth session of the 17th Xi'an Municipal People's Congress, which opened on March 25 in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province.

Ye Niuping, mayor of Xi'an, delivered a government work report, which included a review of the work in 2024 and the overall requirements, expected goals, and key tasks for 2025.
The report summarizes 2024 from eight aspects and proposes the city's economic and social development goals for 2025.
Gross regional product is to increase by 5.5 percent. The added value of industries above the designated size is to increase by 6.5 percent and the fixed assets investment is to increase by one percent. The retail sales are to increase by five percent.
Additionally, total import and export value will increase by 10 percent, general public budget revenue will increase by more than three percent, and 180,000 new urban jobs will be created.
The per capita disposable income of urban and rural residents will also increase by six percent and seven percent, respectively, and consumer prices will increase by about two percent.
Ye also demanded that the local government fulfill their duties in accordance with the law, and strive to build a legal, innovative, clean, and service-oriented government that satisfies the people.
