"Only by being a good servant of the people and always putting the people first, can we fulfill the responsibility of a deputy and do a good job in grassroots community work," said Gao Jing, a deputy to the 17th Xi'an Municipal People's Congress.

Gao is also the Party secretary of the Xinyuan community, located in the Hansenzhai sub-district of Xincheng district, Xi'an.

"Through in-depth visits and research, we found that there is a relatively large number of residents aged 60 and above in our jurisdiction, and many residents have expressed that the original activity venues were too small," Gao said.

She began to plan to create a facility that integrates both health care and leisure, allowing the elderly to enjoy elderly care services without leaving the community, thus making their lives more comfortable.

After several site selection surveys, Gao established the Nuanyang Station in what was once an office area.

"The health care area on the first floor of the station provides on-demand health care services, and medical staff will provide free clinical check-ups for the elderly. The multifunctional room on the second floor of the station expands the activity space for the elderly in the jurisdiction," Gao said.

Next, Gao plans to initiate an elderly meal assistance project.
