The national railway implemented a new freight train schedule on April 9.
Under the new schedule, China Railway Xi'an Group Co operates 11 additional freight trains, while four trains are discontinued, bringing the total number of trains to 139. The change not only improves freight capacity but also reduces social logistics costs, providing strong support for high-quality regional economic development.
In the first quarter of 2025, the China-Europe Railway Express (Xi'an) operated over 1,000 trips, breaking records in multiple indicators.
The X387 Silk Road E-commerce Train first began operating on March 26, 2024, and has achieved regular and passenger operations, receiving high praise from e-commerce companies. The route between Xi'an and Urumqi, capital of Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region has become the first line in Northwest China listed in the logistics product demonstration lines released by China State Railway Group Co.
This adjustment also upgraded the Silk Road E-commerce Train X9542 from Xi'an to Urumqi to the faster multimodal transport train X8588. The train's operating speed has been adjusted from 90 kilometers per hour to 120 km/h, reducing costs and increasing efficiency for e-commerce enterprises.
The railway department reminds shippers that following the new schedule update, freight train information can be accessed through the railway 95306 website and WeChat account to help plan shipments more efficiently.
