Shaanxi Provincial Skills Competition opens in Xi'an

The 2024 Shaanxi Provincial Skills Competition opened on Oct 16 in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province. Twelve teams from 11 cities in the province and Xizang competed in 20 categories, with over 404 competitors participating.

This event is the largest, most prestigious, and most widely impactful comprehensive vocational skills competition hosted by Shaanxi.

Focused on the province's industrial development needs, the competition emphasizes six major areas such as manufacturing and engineering technology and information and communication technology. It selects 20 categories based on criteria like innovation, representation, and industry relevance. These include new energy vehicle intelligent technology, mobile robotics, data security management, healthcare, and social care.

Xi'an, the host city, assembled a delegation of 46 competitors through rigorous selection and training, including representatives from 14 enterprises and 12 educational institutions. The average age of the competitors is 25, and they will compete in all 20 categories.

The event also features a skills development exhibition where Xi'an showcases its achievements in skill talent development. Through videos, display boards, and physical demonstrations, Xi'an highlights its skilled workforce development outcomes.

The competition aims to provide a platform for showcasing exceptional skills, fostering skill exchanges, expanding talent selection avenues, enhancing skill training quality, and innovating skill evaluation mechanisms.
