The 2024 China Sports Tourism Boutique Projects were recently released at the 2024 China Sports Culture Expo and the China Sports Tourism Expo, with the Xi'an Marathon recognized as a premium event.

This distinction marked it as the sole boutique project from Shaanxi province.

By creating representative and influential sports tourism destinations, routes, and events, China Sports Tourism Boutique Projects aims to integrate sports with culture, tourism, education, and wellness industries.

Since its inception in 2017, the Xi'an Marathon has captivated numerous running enthusiasts with its unique charm.

The event was awarded the "Gold Label Event" by the Chinese Athletics Association in 2020 and the "Elite Label Event" by World Athletics in 2021. This year, it was recognized as one of the "Most Influential Marathons in China" by the Chinese Athletics Association, solidifying its status as a prominent sports highlight in the ancient city of Xi'an.

The 2024 Xi'an Marathon will begin on Nov 3, with 35,000 participants expected to take part. This year's event saw a record-breaking registration of over 200,000 individuals, including runners from 33 countries and regions, such as South Korea, the United States, and the United Kingdom, showcasing the event's growing international appeal.
