The Belt and Road Forum for the International Think Tank Cooperation Forum and the 2nd Silk Road (Xi'an) International Communication Forum opened on Oct 15 in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province.

Over 300 diplomats, think tank experts, and media representatives from 50 countries discussed the theme "Building the Belt and Road with High Quality to Support the Modernization of Countries Worldwide".

During the event, Xinhua Institute, a think tank affiliated with Xinhua News Agency, released the report "Eight Major Steps Heralds Promising New Decade of Belt and Road Cooperation."

The document, which consists of three chapters, examines the "remarkable results" of the eight major steps taken over the past year. These steps have laid a solid foundation for the second decade of the Belt and Road Initiative. The document also explores new opportunities created by these proposals for high-quality future Belt and Road cooperation.

China announced the eight major steps to advance the high-quality development of the Belt and Road at the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in October 2023.
