Xi'an buzzes with holiday activities

On Oct 7, online travel services provider Ctrip released the 2024 National Day Tourism Consumption Report. The report revealed that during this year's National Day holiday, Xi'an not only continued to rank among the top 10 popular domestic destinations but also made it to the top 10 inbound tourism hotspots nationwide.

During the holiday from Oct 1-7, tourism orders in Xi'an increased by 4 percent year-on-year, with ticket orders and outbound tourism orders also rising by 4 percent and 52 percent, respectively.

Xi'an's top 10 outbound destinations were Thailand, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Italy, the United Kingdom, Indonesia, the United States, and Australia. Xi'an's top 10 countries contributing to inbound tourism were South Korea, the US, the UK, Singapore, Spain, Germany, Japan, Australia, France, and Russia.

Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Shenzhen, and Chongqing were the primary domestic sources of tourists to Xi'an. For Xi'an residents, Chengdu, Hanzhong, Baoji, Yan'an, and Beijing were popular outbound destinations.

Popular holiday attractions in Xi'an included Emperor Qinshihuang's Mausoleum Site Museum, the Xi'an Bell Tower, the Xi'an Drum Tower, and the Daming Palace National Heritage Park. Other sites included the Xi'an City Wall, Huaqing Palace, Qujiang Polar Ocean Park, Tang Paradise, Huaxia Cultural Tourism Ocean Park, Xi'an Banpo Museum, and the Big Wild Goose Pagoda.
