The opening ceremony of Xi'an Metro Line 10 Phase I, east section of Line 5 Phase I, and south section of Line 6 Phase I took place in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, on Sept 26.

Line 10 Phase I spans 34.4 kilometers and includes 17 stations, serving as a crucial transportation project linking Xi'an's northern development area with the Weihe North Industrial Corridor. This new line will optimize the city's spatial layout, drive regional integration, and promote industrial upgrading along the route.

The east section of Line 5 Phase I, with a length of 3.4 km, includes the brand-new Yuedengge and Yanminghu stations. This extension enhances Line 5 as a vital east-west cross-district rail backbone, supporting the high-quality development of the city.
The south section of Line 6 Phase I, covering 4.5 km, is also expected to stimulate regional economic growth.
Xi'an's rail transit currently accounts for over 60 percent of public transportation, leading the nation in on-time performance and passenger volume.
With the inauguration of these metro lines, Xi'an's rail transit network expands to 10 lines covering 353 km. This expansion will improve the city's public transportation network, offering residents a more convenient, green, comfortable, and efficient travel experience.
