The National Shooting Championship (Clay Pigeon Shooting) kicked off at the Chang'an Changning Ecological Sports Training Base in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, on Sept 1.

A total of 315 athletes from 22 teams across the country registered to compete, including athletes on the national team who had just returned from the Paris Olympics.

The competition features five events, including men's and women's individual and team clay pigeon shooting and mixed team events, with a total of nine gold medals up for grabs. The competition will conclude on Sept 8.

The competition is the first national clay pigeon shooting competition post-Paris Olympics and pre-15th National Games, with results significantly impacting team participation in next year's National Games. The top 10 in men's individual and top 15 in women's individual clay pigeon shooting events will secure direct spots in the 15th National Games finals for their representing units.

This is the fourth national event hosted by the Chang'an Changning Ecological Sports Training Base this year. With its wealth of experience and advanced facilities, events organized by the Shaanxi Provincial Shooting and Archery Sports Management Center have consistently earned praise from participating referees, coaches, and athletes.
