The first signing ceremony of the Shaanxi-Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Activity Week was held in Hong Kong on Sept 2.

At the ceremony, China West Airport Group and the Airport Authority Hong Kong signed a memorandum of cooperation, while the Airport New City of Xixian New Area signed a framework cooperation agreement with France-based delivery company DPD.

According to the memorandum of cooperation, China West Airport Group and the Airport Authority Hong Kong will focus on increasing passenger flights between Xi'an and Hong Kong, expanding cargo routes, and integrating aviation and travel. They aim to transform the Xi'an Xianyang International Airport into a distribution center for the Hong Kong International Airport catering to western China and serving as a hub for transit to Central Asia, Eastern Europe, and other regions.

Under the cooperation framework agreement, the Airport New City and DPD will launch an all-cargo route from Xi'an to Budapest on Sept 7.

In addition, a DPD West China air cargo transfer and distribution center will be established to engage in international express delivery, cross-border e-commerce trade, international flight transaction settlements, bulk trade, and other operations. The project is expected to generate an annual revenue of 100 million yuan ($14.04 million), contributing approximately $35 million to foreign trade.
