On Aug 20, China Eastern Airlines is expected to resume direct flights from Xi'an to Macao with flight numbers MU5019/5020, operated by Airbus A320. Flights are scheduled to operate on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The outbound flight from Xi'an departs at 9:05 am, and is expected to land in Macao at noon. The return flight is scheduled to depart from Macao at 1 pm and arrive in Xi'an at 4:05 pm.

The reopening of the Xi'an-Macao route is anticipated not only to enrich the air network between Xi'an and the Greater Bay Area of Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, but also to establish a convenient aerial bridge for deep cooperation in economics, culture, and tourism between the two regions, providing more options for Xi'an residents to travel to the Greater Bay Area for tourism, business, and cultural exchanges.

In conjunction with the upcoming Macao Week event in Xi'an in mid-to-late August, the airline is set to introduce special airfare products to attract more passengers from Xi'an and surrounding areas to experience the unique charm of Macao, further promoting economic and cultural exchanges between the two regions.

Moving forward, the airline plans to expand its international route network by opening new routes such as Xi'an to Milan and Hanoi, leveraging Xi'an's role as a hub for international air travel in Northwest China to contribute to the opening-up of Shaanxi province.
