The "New Poetry Eulogizes Lintong" poetry conference was held in Lintong district of Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, on May 20.

Lintong has been a popular subject for poets since ancient times, with renowned poets such as Li Bai, Du Fu, Wang Changling, and Bai Juyi leaving behind timeless works which mention the district.

In early April this year, Lintong launched a modern poetry collection activity across various media platforms, focusing on the collection of original modern poems describing the history, culture, geography, development, economy, life, culture, rural vitalization, and charm of Lintong.

The collection activity lasted for a month, during which 308 high-quality works were submitted from all over the country.

Through a process of initial recommendations, on-site evaluations, thorough discussions, and comprehensive judgments, two first-place winners, five second-place winners, and eight third-place winners were ultimately selected, who received cash prizes, certificates, and trophies at an award ceremony.

In recent years, Lintong has been focusing on the integrated development of culture and tourism and the development of modern urban agriculture as its two key industries, accelerating the establishment of a new model for culture and tourism.
