China and five Central Asian countries – namely Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan – launched the secretariat of the China-Central Asia cooperation mechanism in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, on March 30.
In May of last year, the China-Central Asia Summit was held in Xi'an, elevating the China-Central Asia cooperation mechanism to the level of heads of state, marking a new era in China-Central Asia cooperation.
The establishment of the secretariat is an important step in implementing the consensus reached by the heads of these six countries.
The launch of the secretariat signifies a significant stride forward in the construction of the mechanism, which will further promote high-quality cooperation between China and Central Asia countries.
