In September 2023, the first group of 10 trainees from Bogota arrived in Xi'an to undergo a one-year training program on urban rail transit operation and management technology.

The training follows the novel "enterprise + university" talent development model, with Xi'an Rail Transit Group working in collaboration with Xi'an Railway Vocational and Technical Institute to jointly design the curriculum.

During the initial three months, the trainees primarily focused on academic studies, and recently, they have been engaged in practical learning at the metro line network operation center.

In the latter half of this year, the participants will undergo internships at various stations and trains.

Bogota is both the largest city in Colombia and its capital city. It is also one of the most modernized cities in Latin America.

Thanks to the Belt and Road Initiative, Xi'an Rail Transit Group was able to successfully secure the bid to construct the Bogota Metro Line 1 project in 2019, in partnership with China Harbour Engineering Company.

Bogota Metro Line 1 is expected to officially open in 2028, with a total length of 23.96 kilometers. It will feature 16 stations, a depot, a control center, and three main substations.

The project encompasses design, construction, supply, and operation, with a total contract period of 28 years and a contract value exceeding $5 billion.

In the latter half of this year, a second batch of 40 trainees from Bogota Metro Line 1 will also arrive in Xi'an to undergo training.
