New commercial housings in Xi'an show slight growth in price

In December 2023, the price of new commercial housings in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, increased by 0.5 percent month-on-month and 4.5 percent year-on-year, according to a recent release from the National Bureau of Statistics.

Data show that in 2023, the sales area for new commercial housings in Xi'an grew by about 17 percent, ranking third in the country, second only to Chengdu and Hangzhou, while the city's transaction value for new houses increased by about 25 percent, ranking seventh in the country.

Throughout the year, 98,700 second-hand houses were sold in Xi'an, a year-on-year increase of about 70 percent, setting a record high. Second-hand houses in this instance refer to houses that have had previous owners and are not brand new.
