The 9th Silk Road International Art Festival will be held in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, on Oct 15-29. During this time, 37 outstanding domestic and international performances will be staged, more than 600 excellent art works will be exhibited, and over 80 special events will be held.
From Oct 16 to 19, the Shaanxi Provincial Cultural Center and the Yisu Theater Cultural District will hold a cultural tour, where artists from Shaanxi will perform together with those from countries such as France, Serbia, and Georgia.
The Shaanxi Provincial Art Museum will host the "Contemporary Silk Road International Art Invitation Exhibition" on Oct 24-29, showcasing more than 600 excellent artworks selected from among domestic and international artists.
This year's art festival will also arrange for artists to visit various Silk Road cultural landmarks in Shaanxi, allowing them to learn about the province.
In addition, more than 80 special events will be held, including Malaysia Cultural Day, children's theater week, an intangible cultural heritage fair, and the international modern art week.
High-quality performances and comprehensive programs from 17 countries, including Russia, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, will be presented through a combination of physical shows and online broadcasts, bringing a series of exciting and diverse artistic experiences to the audience.
The Silk Road International Art Festival is China's first comprehensive international art festival to be themed on the Silk Road.
Since its establishment in 2014, the festival has been held eight times, attracting people from more than 120 countries and regions. It has showcased 236 outstanding performances and exhibited more than 2,600 art, calligraphy, photography, and intangible cultural heritage works.
