The 2023 Xi'an Marathon is set to start on Oct 29, with a total of 35,000 runners to participate. Registration for the event officially commenced on Sept 13 at 10:00 am.

Founded in 2017, the Xi'an Marathon has become one of the most anticipated running events in China after years of careful cultivation.

With its excellent reputation, enthusiastic fans and outstanding services, as well as the abundance of tourist attractions in Xi'an, it has become quite popular among domestic running enthusiasts.

The race will start at 7:30 am on Oct 29, 2023, at the south square of the Xi'an City Wall's Yongning Gate. It will include a full marathon (limited to 20,000 participants), a half marathon (limited to 10,000 participants), and a 7-kilometer happy run (limited to 5,000 participants).

If the number of applicants exceeds the limit, a lottery and waiting list will be used to determine who can participate.

This year, the registration fee for both the full marathon and the half marathon is 200 yuan ($27.48) per person, while the 7-km happy run costs 100 yuan per person.

The course for this year's marathon has undergone significant changes from previous years, except for the starting point, which remains at the south square of Yongning Gate. The course and finish line for all events have been adjusted.

In addition, the event will reserve 300 marathon slots and 200 half marathon slots as charitable quotas, exempt from the lottery system.
