A big and bright future awaits Capicenio Jasher Dave Llanillo from the Philippines, who is currently studying business administration at Northwestern Polytechnical University in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province.
Llanillo is very happy with his studies in Xi'an, sees plenty of opportunities there and has big ambitions for the future.
"After graduation, I want to do something to promote trade between the two countries," he said.
With the increasing trade between China and the Philippines, his parents, who work in business, believed that learning Chinese would be helpful for his future work and life. So they sent him to an international school at the tender age of eight.
In 2022, after graduating from high school, he wanted to come to China to experience the culture and people there.
After more than three months of online learning, he finally went to Xi'an in December 2022.

"Xi'an has developed rapidly in recent years, with many modern and fashionable buildings rising, and what impressed me most is the increasing number of metro lines,” he said.
"Although I live in the new campus of Northwestern Polytechnical University, which is a bit far from the city center, it's very convenient, safe, comfortable and fast to travel anywhere within the metro," he added.
The Filipino serves as a guide at the history museum at the university, becoming the first foreign student guide since its opening.
He recalled that he made thorough preparations to be a good guide, making appropriate modifications to his presentation to help foreign friends better understand the content.
What made the student particularly proud was that on June 14, he had the opportunity to explain the museum's history to Fabrizio Hochschild, the former UN Deputy Secretary-General.
"He thought I did a good job and especially invited me to attend his lecture at the university, which further motivated me to do well as a guide," he said.
In terms of his major, logistics development in China interests him most. After graduation, he wants to work in international logistics, bringing more quality Chinese products to the Filipino people and enable more Filipino products to enter China faster.
