Xi'an, capital city of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, served as the capital of 13 dynasties in Chinese history, including the Western Zhou (c.11th century-771 BC) and Tang (618–907) dynasties.
Known as Chang'an in ancient times, Xi'an was the starting point of the ancient Silk Road. As such, it boasts many famous scenic spots and possesses six world cultural heritage sites, such as the Mausoleum of Emperor Qinshihuang, Site of Weiyang Palace and Giant Wild Goose Pagoda.
In recent years, Datang Everbright City has also become a must-visit place in Xi'an.
Also, as a food city, Xi'an's snacks are favored by tourists at home and abroad. The famous "Chinese hamburger," steamed cold noodle and Paomo (shredded bread soaked in mutton or beef soup) are all top choices for foodies.
