Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, will continue to use various measures to promote the development of its education sector in 2021, according to a news conference held by the municipal government on Jan 15.
In 2021, the city will add 108,000 study positions in 126 schools which will be put into use in the fall semester. It will also recruit more than 7,000 teachers by the end of July.

It will improve the school operations, teacher training and school management of 220 public compulsory education schools in order to offer a more favorable education environment.
In terms of preschool education, the city will ensure that the coverage of inclusive kindergartens in the city remains at 90 percent.

With a focus on the high-quality development of high schools, it will create nine municipal-level new curriculum and new textbook implementation demonstration areas, 30 demonstration schools, and 40 sample schools.
The city will also build 100 special departments, 60 high school new curriculum bases, and 260 key disciplines.
