Construction on the terminal began in July 2021 and was completed in September 2024. It includes a 700,000-square-meter terminal, a 350,000-sq-m integrated transportation hub, and other advanced facilities such as cargo warehouses, drainage systems, and fire safety infrastructure.
By Nov 8, the terminal had passed industry inspections, making it ready for operational use.
The T5 Terminal features an innovative design with dual-layer departure and arrival processes. Domestic and international departing passengers share the same floor, eliminating level changes and enhancing comfort.

The distance to the farthest boarding gates is capped at 600 meters, and reaching them takes less than eight minutes. The terminal seamlessly connects to the transportation hub via two interconnected levels, ensuring a smooth passenger transfer experience.
The airport's newly built north second runway also became operational on Dec 26. Together, the T5 Terminal and the new runway will expand the airport's capacity and efficiency, boosting passenger throughput and operational effectiveness.
