The event runs until July 8, featuring film screenings, institutional matchmaking, and cultural exchanges, attracting representatives from the cultural, film, and media industries of China and Egypt to launch a cross-continental dialogue between two of the world's oldest civilizations.

2026 marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Egypt. The event aims to deepen film cultural exchanges and cooperation between the two countries, enable Egyptian audiences to better understand China's Western films, and present them with a more comprehensive image of China through the art of cinema.

During the event, Egyptian audiences will enjoy seven outstanding films from Shaanxi province. The Chinese delegation will also pay visits to key film and cultural institutions, including the Egyptian Media Production City and Egypt Film Commission.

In-depth discussions will be held on topics such as film festival cooperation, co-production projects, and theatrical distribution, to advance the establishment of a regular cooperation mechanism between the Chinese and Egyptian film industries.

The organizer said Shaanxi province is the starting point of the ancient Silk Road, and Xiying Group is the cradle of Chinese Western films. Chinese filmmakers hope to take this event as a bridge to strengthen exchanges and collaboration with Egypt's film industry.
