The special international exchange exhibition "Art in Gold: Jewellery in Hellenistic Times" will open at Xi'an's Shaanxi History Museum on June 14 and run until Nov 29.
The exhibition features 250 sets of exquisite gold artifacts and a small number of pottery pieces sourced from 25 museums and archaeological institutions across Greece, showcasing the unique charm of gold art and the cultural integration that defined the Hellenistic era.
Among the artifacts on display is a set of intricately crafted gold relics unearthed in Thessaly. These pieces represent the pinnacle of gold art in the Hellenistic period, making them an unmissable highlight of the exhibition.
Through in-depth dialogue between Chinese and Greek civilizations, the exhibition echoes "Museums Uniting a Divided World", the theme of the 2026 International Museum Day, and serves as a platform for advancing cultural exchange and mutual learning.
