More than 50 experts and scholars gathered at the Appointment Ceremony and Academic Symposium of the Xi'an Tang Poetry Culture Research Institute on March 16 to discuss plans for the research, inheritance, and development of Tang poetry culture, pooling wisdom and strength for the construction of Xi'an's cultural brand as the "City of Tang Poetry".

The institute was established on Jan 23 by the Xi'an municipal publicity department and Northwest University, with the aim of building a research platform with academic excellence, contemporary significance, and social influence.

Li Hao, head of the institute, announced the institute's development plan and core mission at the event and provided an update on preparations for the first international forum on Tang poetry culture. He expressed his hope to join all experts in promoting the creative transformation and innovative development of the research, interpretation, and communication of Tang poetry culture, so that it can take on renewed vitality in the new era.

The institute issued letters of appointment to members of the first academic committee and presented certificates to 36 specially appointed researchers. The appointment aims to integrate high-quality academic resources, build a professional research platform, and consolidate the talent foundation for the institute's academic research and practical development.

During the discussions, experts and scholars exchanged ideas across their respective research fields, covering the inheritance of Tang poetry culture, academic research priorities, and the development of urban cultural brands, yielding many valuable academic insights.
