Xi'an has been approved to build a national demonstration zone for the innovative development of trade in services.
Since being authorized as a pilot city in August 2020, Xi'an has listed the innovative development of trade in services as a key municipal priority for five consecutive years. The city's trade in services climbed from 39 billion yuan ($5.75 billion) in 2020 to 69.3 billion yuan in 2025, representing an average annual growth rate of 12.2 percent. A total of 21 innovative practices pioneered by Xi'an have been promoted nationwide.
This strong performance laid the groundwork for the city's approval to develop the national demonstration zone.
Xi'an will focus on industrial development, boost digital empowerment, and foster service export enterprises with global influence, striving to develop into a national demonstration zone featuring robust innovation and sound institutional frameworks, contributing to the high-quality development of China's trade in services.
