The first batch of 32 enterprises who are settling at the Greater Xi'an New Central Business District in Xixian New Area, Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, were officially welcomed at a ceremony held on May 12.

The event marked the moment that the Greater Xi'an New Central Business District made the formal transition from being in development to being operational.

The district is the core development area of Xixian New Area. It has broad growth prospects and huge investment potential, and can provide strong support for the accelerated development of the enterprises which settle there.

As one of the core areas of the Greater Xi'an New Axis and created with a total investment of nearly 10 billion yuan ($1.41 billion), the district includes Xixian free trade center, Xixian enterprises headquarters and Xixian business center, including offices, commercial buildings, hotels, apartments and conference centers.

The first batch of enterprises settling in the district are involved in various sectors such as finance, technology research and development, modern trade services, medical and health, and office services.

In his speech, Chen Hui, deputy director of the management committee of Xixian New Area, said that, as the first national-level new district with the theme of innovative urban development, Xixian New Area will always provide the best services, giving entrepreneurs the confidence to invest and develop in the area.
