The "Extending New Year Wishes Online" activity was held on Feb 15, the day of the Lantern Festival, hosted by the Xi'an municipal administration of culture and tourism and Xi'an municipal foreign affairs office.

More than 20 mayors, government representatives, cultural tourism industry representatives and citizen representatives from the World Organization of United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG), Asia-Pacific Tourism Committee member cities, Xi'an's sister cities, Culture Cities of East Asia, and cities along the Silk Road gathered online and sent New Year's blessings to Xi'an.
