Due to the current COVID-19 situation and consumer demand during the approaching Spring Festival, the Xi'an municipal bureau of commerce plans to launch the Xi'an Online New Year Shopping Festival from Jan 22 to Feb 15.

The shopping festival is an important measure by Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, to strengthen virus prevention and control and market supply assurance and consumption and to meet the diversified and personalized needs of citizens.

A WeChat applet designed for the shopping festival has been established for 100 supply companies. Consumers can place orders directly through the applet.

In addition to basic daily necessities, the shopping festival will also launch more brands, quality, health and smart products, catering packages, customized New Year's Eve dinners, and other delivery services for various groups of people.

By cooperating with major e-commerce platforms such as Meituan, Eleme and JD Daojia, a full-chain service for online ordering and offline delivery will be provided.

Participating companies will launch coupons and red envelopes, as well as affordable gift packages for special groups such as left-behind elderly and stranded people.
