While promoting the inheritance of traditional culture and the protection of intangible cultural heritage, the activity will aim to create a festive atmosphere via the medium of Spring Festival couplets and paper-cut art that are popular with the public.

At the activity, calligraphers will be invited to write couplets on the theme of Spring Festival customs and the local culture. They will also explain the cultural knowledge related to the Spring Festival couplets to the audience and the various calligraphy fonts that will be displayed.

Folk artists will showcase their paper-cutting skills and discuss the origins, meaning, form, content, creation, postings and other cultural knowledge of paper-cuts during the Spring Festival.

With the theme of welcoming in the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics on Feb 4-20, folk artists will be invited to create paper-cut works on site and share their blessings for the New Year and the upcoming Winter Olympics with the audience.

The activity will be broadcast live on platforms including the Shaanxi BC & TV Network, Himalaya, Sina Weibo and the Digital Cultural Center of the Xi'an Mass Cultural Museum.
