The highly anticipated 2019 "Spring Festival in Xi'an Most Cultural and Traditional" celebration officially kicked off on December 31. Colorful activities including a New Year's flash show by over 60 entrepreneurs and a New Year’s float with a Spanish theme charmed festival goers, as did a New Year's Eve ceremony featuring a building light show and famous bands.

Xi'an first launched the "Spring Festival in Xi'an Most Cultural and Traditional" celebration festival brand event in 2018. During the Chinese New Year, more than 30 events were held and won the attention of more than 180 million people. Over 10 million Chinese and foreign tourists visited Xi'an during the period, making the city the fourth largest tourist destination in China during the Chinese New Year.

The slogans of "2019 Spring Festival in Xi'an Most Cultural and Traditional" celebration include "Come to Xi'an for the Chinese New Year and You Will Come Again", "Enjoy the Best of the Chinese New Year in Xi'an", and "Happy Chinese New Year in Xi'an." The content of the celebration will focus on ten keywords including history, fashion, folklore, exhibition, food, science and technology, book, festival, blessing and colors. The 66-day event will until Mar. 6th, 2019 and there will be a total of 251 different activities.

The "2019 Spring Festival in Xi'an Most Cultural and Traditional" celebration in Chanba Ecological Zone of Xi'an has especially attracted attention. The Chinese New Year celebrations were officially launched in Chanba on Dec. 29. The event features the presentation "Dream, Charming Chanba and New Year". A series of youthful and festive events such as a light show, the Bahe River water show, the New Year Folk Art Festival, the International Dragon and Lion Dance Competition, and the AR Technology Experience will be carried out.  

The dean of Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts was invited by the Chanba Ecological Zone to design a commemorative envelope dedicated to the activities of "2019 Spring Festival in Xi'an Most Cultural and Traditional." The commemorative envelope was issued for the first time at the Xi'an Branch of China Post. It will be issued in 10 cities in China, inviting people across the country to visit this historical city.
