The festival consists of nine series of activities in three sections – including a food carnival, a food industry summit and a cooking craft festival.

It is understood to be comprehensively promoting special food and beverages inside and outside the province. The event is also displaying Shaanxi's cuisine, skill inheritance and development achievements, as well as meeting the tasting and dinning needs of tourists coming to Shaanxi and businessmen attending the Sixth Silk Road International Exposition.
