The observation and evaluation period for Xi'an's key projects in the first quarter started on April 19. From April 19 to 22, the observation group visits the construction sites of key projects in the city's districts, counties and development zones to learn about the projects' progress.

This year, Xi'an will focus on the fields of industrial development, urban construction, ecological protection and the protection of social benefits. It has arranged 740 key municipal projects with a total investment of 2.5 trillion yuan ($384.71 billion).

As of the end of March, 473 key municipal projects under construction had completed an investment of 130.5 billion yuan, achieving 33 percent of the target, 12 percentage points higher than the same period last year.

On April 19, the observation group visited the cultural and sports infrastructure construction project in Zhouzhi county. The project involves the construction of a library, a cultural center, an art exhibition hall, a museum, a stadium and a fitness center, and has a planned investment of 771 million yuan.

After completion, it will become an urban landmark and a multi-functional cultural and leisure activity center integrating exhibitions, patriotic education, reading and learning, physical exercise, leisure and entertainment.

On April 20, in Gaoling district, the observation group visited the Xi'an public health center project. With a total investment of 3.56 billion yuan, the project is currently the largest public health center in China with the largest number of beds and the most complete medical equipment.

Also, the observation group visited the comprehensive treatment projects of the Shichuan and Qinghe rivers in Yanliang district.

Through the treatment of the two rivers, the project is committed to building a comprehensive environmental corridor integrating ecology, industry and culture, effectively improving the natural environment around Yanliang.
