The commencement ceremony for Xi'an's key second quarter projects was held on May 31, totaling 223 projects with a total investment of 141.2 billion yuan ($19.83 billion).

These projects cover six sectors including advanced manufacturing, the service industry, and cultural tourism. They will be an important boost for the city in the promotion of investment, and further stimulate the vitality of urban economic and social development.
Of the total, there are 55 advanced manufacturing projects with a total investment of 38.18 billion yuan, 27 service industry projects with an investment of 35.47 billion yuan, and 17 cultural tourism projects with an investment of 8.05 billion yuan.
In addition, 102 projects are related to urban infrastructure and people's livelihoods, accounting for about 46 percent of the total, which will further enhance the public's sense of happiness.

There are 37 projects with a total investment of more than 1 billion yuan, among which 12 have a total investment of over 3 billion yuan and four have a total investment of more than 5 billion yuan.
As of the end of May, the 313 key projects under construction at city level had completed an investment of 137.13 billion yuan, accounting for 48.93 percent of the annual plan.
