A groundbreaking ceremony took place on Oct 27 for key projects of Xi'an Yanliang National Aviation Hi-tech Industrial Base, with a total investment of 8.23 billion yuan ($1.23 billion).

The projects cover aircraft manufacturing, supporting infrastructure and people's livelihood, with investment volumes that will drive the local economy and deliver major benefits to the local community.

One of the projects -- a civil aircraft and aviation manufacturing industrial park project -- involves a total investment of 997 million yuan alone. It will see the construction of production plants, incubation centers and test centers, providing facilities for the operation of domestically made civil aircraft and support enterprises.

Since the start of the year, Xi'an Yanliang National Aviation Hi-tech Industrial Base has made the key projects a launchpad for optimizing its industrial structure and promoting its high-quality development.

It is striving to establish an advanced aviation manufacturing industry cluster with a complete production and supply chain.
