As Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, gradually recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic, the city's Yisu Theater Cultural District held its first Qin Opera performance on Jan 26.

The performance has gotten young people more interested in Qin Opera as it fuses tradition and fashion.

To allow the public to experience Qin Opera more directly, the Yisu Theater Cultural District has restored an important performance venue for opera culture – an antique open-air stage.

"Shortly after reopening, the Yisu Theater Cultural District held a wonderful traditional opera performance. We are looking forward to the district's Spring Festival activities,” said a local on Jan 26.

The Yisu Theatre Cultural District is holding various Spring Festival activities this year. From the Chinese New Year's Eve on Jan 31 to the fifteenth day of the first lunar month on Feb 15, 16 Qin Opera performances will be held.

Since its opening on Sept 14, 2021, the Yisu Theater Cultural District has held nearly 90 Qin Opera performances with free admission.
