The Xi'an science and technology bureau recently announced key tasks for the construction of the Qinchuangyuan innovation-driven platform in 2022.

Launched on March 30, 2021, Qinchuangyuan is the main platform and source for innovation-driven development in Northwest China's Shaanxi province. It is also the province's largest incubator for the practical application of science and technology.

Qinchuangyuan's general window is located in Xixian New Area which is co-built by the cities of Xi'an and Xianyang in Shaanxi.

In promoting the development of Qinchuangyuan this year, the overall proportion of R&D investment will remain above five percent.

According to plans, Xi'an should be home to 8,700 national high-tech enterprises and 10,000 high-tech small and medium-sized enterprises by the end of this year.

In addition, the city's technology market contract turnover should exceed 220 billion yuan ($34.54 billion), and the city should introduce and cultivate 1,400 high-level talents.

The general window in Xixian should add 200 enterprises related to the practical application of scientific and technological achievements throughout the year.

To achieve the aforementioned goals, Xi'an will encourage all districts, counties and development zones to join the Qinchuangyuan online service main platform to create a one-stop service model.

Colleges and universities will be encouraged to establish proof-of-concept centers and continue carrying out industry-university-research activities such as the Qinchuangyuan project roadshow to promote the practical application of scientific and technological achievements.

Xi'an will also promote the construction of a national new-generation artificial intelligence innovation and development pilot zone and a national key & core technology innovation demonstration zone with high standards.

In addition, the Xi'an Talent Development Fund will be established to support high-quality talent projects of Qinchuangyuan.
