Relevant departments of Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, recently enacted six measures to support the recovery and development of the outdoor economy and nighttime economy.

Under the guidance of the commercial and urban management departments, large-scale commercial enterprises will be allowed to carry out outdoor promotions at plazas in front of their entrances, as long as they do not affect traffic.

Xi'an will guide, encourage and support enterprises in developing new consumption models such as open-air markets offering leisure options to form a one-stop outdoor economic industrial chain.

Automobile and home appliance companies will be supported in carrying out exhibitions and promotions at squares or in communities and rural areas.

Promotional activities will be supported as well, such as food festivals, beer festivals, coffee festivals, auto shows, tea expos, and jewelry exhibitions. Qualified commercial complexes are encouraged to build new energy vehicle city exhibition halls to boost consumption.

The city will also allow qualified commercial pedestrian streets and commercial complexes to operate outside at night during specified hours, and appropriately extend night business hours.

In addition, Xi'an will create new night-time consumption formats and models, and rely on characteristic commercial districts to hold outdoor activities, such as automobile markets, cultural and creative markets, cultural performances, and night tours, to enhance the vitality of the nighttime economy.
