With the adjustment of the COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control policies in Xi'an – capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province – college and university students in low-risk areas in the city recently began to go on vacation and left school at staggered times.
On the first day of the Spring Festival travel rush on Jan 17, Xi'an Railway Station welcomed the first batch of students returning home.

A special train carrying more than 700 students returning home departed from Xi'an Railway Station on the same day, heading for Ankang Railway Station in Ankang city in Shaanxi.
In the face of the student passenger flows, Xi'an Railway Station made sure it had the holiday information of each school at hand.
It is understood to have carefully researched and analyzed the direction of student passenger flows and formulated transportation plans for students on the move, to serve their travel needs.

Xi'an North Railway Station and Xi'an Railway Station have also strengthened their entry and exit code scanning and temperature measurement inspections.
Key areas in the stations are now required to be disinfected every two hours – including waiting rooms, entry gates, security checkpoints, ticket gates, platforms and exits.
Moving forwards, operator China Railway Xi'an Group Co will continue to run special trains for students, to ensure their safe returns.
