Shaanxi University of Science and Technology – located in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province – on Jan 3 received a donation from Md Rafikul Islam, an international student from Bangladesh.

Rafikul is an international doctoral student majoring in light industry technology economics and management at Shaanxi University of Science and Technology, where he has been studying since 2018.
Since the outbreak of the pandemic in Xi'an, Rafikul has been concerned about his school, paying close attention to the pandemic situation in the city.
He took the initiative to contact university counselor Xue Yu about the donation. "Shaanxi University of Science and Technology is like my home," he said. "I hope to do my best to help my family get through the difficulties," he added.
In addition, international students from Shaanxi University of Science and Technology have spoken out on international platforms to praise China's policies to fight the virus.
An international student from South Sudan is currently studying for a master's degree in electrical engineering at Shaanxi University of Science and Technology. In order to prevent and control the pandemic, the school has transferred all its courses online.
He believed that the strict control being followed by the school puts the international students at ease, demonstrating the school's care and protection of them.
