Starting from Dec 27, Xi'an – capital city of Northwest China's Shaanxi province – ramped up its COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control measures, and all residents were advised not to leave their homes or gather, except to participating in nucleic acid testing as required.
The city has mobilized, in order to organize the preparation of vegetables and other daily necessities to provide materials guarantees for its housing estates with closed management.

Chang'an district is understood to have undertaken a range of measures – including issuing green passes for materials distribution vehicles and staff members, as well as arranging 10 vehicles to regularly provide residents with fresh and affordable meat, eggs and vegetables.
Qujiang New District has coordinated with four large supermarkets and one farmer's market to provide a smooth supply of goods, and it prepared 130 metric tons of meat, 70 tons of eggs and 650 tons of vegetables on the evening of Dec 28.
Four service centers have been arranged to deliver goods to 15 communities in the district, covering all 130,000 households.
Starting from 8 pm on Dec 28, the nine sub-district offices and the urban shed reform affairs centers in the Xincheng district began purchasing vegetables and eggs through supermarkets, vegetable markets and other channels.
These were delivered door to door by community workers and volunteers, and they can meet the needs of residents for three days.
Other districts in the city – including Yanliang, Huyi, Lintong and Lianhu – have also made every effort to ensure sufficient reserves of daily supplies for their residents.
