The national entrance examinations for postgraduates started on Dec 25. Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, has promised to spare no efforts in ensuring the smooth progress of the examinations as the city's confirmed COVID-19 cases continue to rise.
This year, the total number of candidates in Shaanxi province was nearly 170,000, with about 135,000 candidates taking the tests in Xi'an.
