Xi'an Xianyang International Airport is strengthening its COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control measures for all departing passengers – based on temperature measurements and health code checks – according to an announcement it made on Dec 19.

People from medium and high-risk areas in Xi'an, as well as districts and counties administered by the city, where medium and high-risk areas are located, are being restricted in their travels.

So far, the districts and counties where medium and high-risk areas have been identified in Xi'an are the Qujiang New District, Yanta district, the Xi'an Economic & Technological Development Zone, Beilin district and Fengdong New City. If there is any change, the latest announcement of the city will stand.

For people outside those areas who really need to travel, the airport will verify a negative nucleic acid test within 48 hours at the entrance and exit of the terminal. Those without corresponding certificates will not be able to enter the terminal.

The airport announcement said it was reminding passengers who plan to travel to learn about the latest anti-epidemic policy in advance, prepare relevant materials, cooperate with anti-epidemic inspections, and undertake self-protection during their travels.
