Kong Hong, deputy director of the Xi'an municipal civil affairs bureau, said that the current pandemic prevention and control in the city had entered the crucial stage, and the villages in city were the main focus of the task.
To date, the districts where the virus-hit villages in city are located have been allocated food, daily necessities and pandemic prevention materials worth 20.91 million yuan ($3.28 million).

As a result, the temporary relief channels for villages in city remain unblocked. It is understood that if basic day-to-day living proves to be difficult, people can report it to their village work team through an announced contact number and via their WeChat group.
Moving forward, plans are for the Xi'an municipal civil affairs bureau to continue to mobilize a host of measures in the battle against the virus. While ensuring pandemic prevention and control, the bureau will reportedly also focus on providing services to the public – working with residents to win the battle against the pandemic.
