The 10th West China Culture Industries Expo will be held in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, on Aug 17-20, according to a news conference on Aug 10.
As an important national cultural event, the expo has been successfully held for nine sessions since its establishment in 2005. Over the past 18 years, the expo has showcased the cultural development achievements of the 12 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities in western China.
It has become a national comprehensive platform for transforming Western cultural resources, promoting cultural product transactions, and developing cultural industry projects.
This year’s expo is hosted by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the National Radio and Television Administration, and the Shaanxi Provincial People's Government and co-organized by the 11 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities in West China.
The upcoming expo will have Guizhou province as its guest province, showcasing its remarkable achievements in the cultural industry. The province will also promote significant cultural projects and host cultural performances for the public to enjoy.
The expo will have a planned exhibition area of 72,000 square meters, including five exhibition halls and one outdoor exhibition area.

The expo will highlight strengthening cooperation between the eastern and western regions to achieve resource sharing and industrial complementarity. More than 10 eastern provinces and municipalities, including Beijing, Shanghai, Jiangsu, and Zhejiang, will also showcase their latest cultural achievements.
Furthermore, the expo will set up 25 sub-venues in various cultural venues in the city, hosting distinctive cultural performances, cultural project promotions, and more.
Also, cultural vouchers that cover cultural consumption, such as art performances and book purchases, will be distributed to the public.
The press conference on Aug 10 also announced that the 2023 Xi'an Silk Road International Tourism Expo will open on Aug 17.
Themed "New Momentum, New Vitality, New Development," the expo will focus on the international development of the tourism industry and highlight the achievements of the tourism industry in countries along the Silk Road. Kyrgyzstan will be the guest country to discuss the development blueprint of the tourism industry through friendly exchanges.
