During the recent weeklong Spring Festival holiday, the tourism market in Xi'an – capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province – saw a robust recovery, with the number of visitors and tourism revenue hitting new highs.

The 15 key tourist attractions in the city received about 2.28 million visits, a year-on-year increase of 160 percent, returning to the level of the same period in 2019.
Among those tourists that headed to Xi'an, 89.4 percent were aged 17-45, and more and more young people fell for its attractions.

The proportion of overnight tourists increased by 12.96 percent, the average length of stay reached 4.24 days and the occupancy rate of star-rated hotels reached 80.12 percent.
Most of the tourists came from the Yangtze River Delta, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and the surrounding provinces of Shaanxi.
Xi'an organized more than 1,500 series of activities along six major themes – such as fireworks shows and lantern festivals – for this year's break.
