The 2020 Daming Palace Shangyuan Carnival Season kicked off at Daming Palace National Heritage Park in Xi'an, capital of Shaanxi province, on Jan 1, creating the most grand and all-weather immersive garden party in Xi'an.

Centered around presenting the unique culture and wonderful stories of the Tang Dynasty (618-907), the carnival season will last until Feb 16, spanning the Chinese New Year holiday, the Lantern Festival, and Valentine's Day.

Utilizing light and shadow technology, dynamic capture, VR technology, and interactive experiences, it will allow visitors to experience a Tang Dynasty style lantern show, showcasing the new image of Daming Palace National Heritage Park, which integrates history, fashion, and technology.

During the event, Daming Palace National Heritage Park will also organize cultural performances for residents and tourists, such as song and dance shows, creating a lively Chinese New Year atmosphere for Xi'an.

Intangible cultural heritage protection projects and inheritors will also bring a variety of unique skills and displays, showcasing the charm of intangible culture heritages.

In addition, as a treasure of Chinese cultural heritage, Daming Palace Heritage Museum will also hold a temporary exhibition jointly with Fujian Yue Wangcheng Museum during the Chinese New Year.
