The 2020 Xi'an City Wall Lantern Festival will kick off on Jan 17 and will last until Feb 24, according to the management committee of Qujiang New District in Xi'an, capital of Shaanxi province.

The Xi'an City Wall Lantern Festival has been held for 32 sessions since 1984 and has become a well-known cultural tourism event, as well as an important festival celebration in Xi'an.

Together with the Shanghai Yuyuan Lantern Festival and the Nanjing Qinhuai Lantern Festival, it will provide a folk lantern festival integrating lantern displays, creative interactions, innovative markets, and festival performances with traditional Chinese features.

Through AR and VR technology, the lantern festival will integrate traditional skills with interactive technologies to enhance the interactions and experiences of tourists.

In addition, a lantern group of Xi'an City Wall participated in the first large-scale lantern exhibition in Moscow, capital of Russia, on Dec 4, 2019, which will last until Feb 23, 2020.
