The 18th Xi'an Chinese New Year Shopping Fair and the Fourth China (Guanzhong Plain) Chinese New Year Culture Exhibition kicked off at Xi'an Qujiang International Conference and Exhibition Center and Shaanxi Sports Stadium respectively on Jan 7.

Hosted by the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Commerce, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Shaanxi Province, and the Xi'an municipal bureau of commerce, the shopping fair will run until Feb 22.

Covering an area of over 60,000 square meters, the fair will exhibit more than 10,000 famous and special products, attracting enterprises from home and abroad to participate.

In addition to the 11 main exhibition areas, which will exhibit things like wine and drinks, agricultural products, tea and tea sets, fresh aquatic products, halal food, year-end supplies, as well as clothing and apparel, the shopping fair will also consist of special exhibition areas for the China-Britain Business Council and Shaanxi specialty agricultural products.

The culture exhibition features historical restorations, interactive experiences, and folklore interpretations, reproducing the traditional cultures of the Guanzhong Plain, such as Laba Festival, worshipping the Kitchen God, and paying a New Year's call.
